QCFI Mumbai Chapter organized its 32nd Annual Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts on 29th and 30th September, 2018, at IES Management Institute, Bandra (West), Mumbai. 300 case studies, with 1550 delegates , were presented in this convention.

The theme of the Convention was : Igniting Minds for Innovation through Quality Concepts.

The convention was inaugurated by Mr. Manoj Saxena, Managing Director, Bayer – Zydus Pharma and graced by Guest of Honor, Mrs. Varsha Shrikhande, Managing Director, Accenture India & Guest of Honor, Mr. Martin Kitching, Sr. Vice President – Operations, Linxens , Bangkok, Thailand.

At the start of the Convention, Mr. Henry Samuel, Governing Council Member, QCFI Mumbai, gave information about fire and safety rules and regulations to be observed by delegates in the convention premises.

Mr. KB Bharati, Chairman & Director, QCFI welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honors, invitees, judges and delegates from across the country. He presented Chapter Activity Report for the year 2017-2018. The presentation covered important highlights of events and activities organized during 2017-2018.

He said, technological advancement has brought about changes in the lives of human beings and innovation will focus on problem solving to problem prevention.

Mr. Martin Kitching congratulated QCFI Mumbai Chapter for well organized Convention and shared experiences of the previous organizations. He mentioned that he has developed Quality Circles to solve major quality concerns and was amazed to notice that his teams at different locations grew in skills and motivation as they worked together to resolve work related issues.

Mrs. Varsha Shrikhande presented that the changing trends was going to shape the business world in the coming years. The Artificial intelligence, Black Chain and Big Data have brought in innovation in all spheres. She further said the world is coming closer day by day and everyone has to be curious , passionate and experimental to learn new things because learning has no age bar.

The speeches followed felicitation of four QC Coordinators and one in CSR activities and release of QCFI Mumbai New Information Brochure at the hands of Chief Guest and Guests of Honors.

Mr. Manoj Saxena congratulated Mumbai Chapter for doing excellent work in the field of Quality Management. He said “Quality is right thing, when no one is watching you and called for integration of quality with ethics”. Quality is very critical and important and through research and innovation, we should bring quality in all kinds of processes. Better life is equal to better quality of life.

RCF (Trombay) employees presented “SKIT” on “Swachha Bharat Abhiyan” on both the days. This was appreciated by the audience.

Mr. PS Mashelkar, Vice Chairman, QCFI Mumbai proposed vote of thanks to all dignitaries on the dias, invitees, judges, college management and delegates.

The valedictory sessions on first and second day, consisted of entertainment programs and distribution of awards.

Mr. VK Lad was compered the proceedings in a professional way.
