Awareness Session on Lean Manufacturing for Productivity Enhancement

1600 – 1730 Hrs. 4^th August 2016: Automotive Axles Ltd: Mysuru

Thank you for your active participation at CII Mysuru SME Knowledge Forum. We received excellent feedback on the recent exclusive interaction held with the Deputy Director, MSME Department on 15 July at CII Office.

In continuation to our concerted efforts in enabling SMEs to compete globally, CII Mysuru in Partnership with QCFI Mysuru Chapter is organizing a Session with the Director, National Productivity Council, Government of India at 1600 Hrs. on 4^th August 2016 at Conference Room, Automotive Axles Ltd, Mysuru. The session would conclude by 1730 Hrs.

Mr. K P Ashwin, Director, National Productivity Council, Bengaluru will address on Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme implemented by MSME Development Institute which aims to enhance the manufacturing competitiveness of MSMEs through the application of various Lean Manufacturing (LM) techniques.

The scheme was launched in July 2009 on pilot basis covering 100 clusters across the country and owing to the success of the pilot phase, the scheme has been up-scaled for 500 more clusters the results from pilot basis has shown tremendous results – 10% increase in production capacity; 10% working space reclaimed for productive work; 25% increase in inventory turnover; 10-30% reduction in manufacturing lead time; 15% improvement in OEE (Model Machines) and 7500 Kaizens generated.

The approach involves engagement of Lean Manufacturing Consultants (LMC) to work with selected MSME’s in the chosen clusters for one year with financial support by the Government. A maximum of 80% of the project cost for each cluster will be borne by the Government.
