VRCCQC-2016 Convention Report
Introduction
4th Varanasi convention on quality concepts 4th VRCCQC-2016 at Varanasi which was started in year 2013 has been very successful with continuously propagating quality concepts in eastern UP along with eastern India. This year the convention which was held on 11th September, 2016 & approx 400 participants/delegates/students/guests representing different organization taking part in various stream/competition. This unique convention launched by Quality Circle Forum of India, Varanasi centre for propagation of quality concepts which is run by Quality Circle Forum of India in different organization of the country. This convention was very informative, value added for nation building plan. In this convention one village quality circle from Unchahar participated and presented problem & solution of concerned village through quality concepts tools & techniques. It was appreciated by all quality lovers.
Venue
Like every year School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi was also selected for VRCCQC convention 2016. SMS has very good infrastructure with an auditorium to accommodate the large gathering where inauguration, knowledge test, quiz competition, valedictory & prize distribution function were held. The food catering arrangements were well organized with adequate number of counters for serving foods for the participants.
Registration
The registration activities started on 11th September, 2016 in the morning 8 AM for convenience of the team who had reported on the day & registration completed by 10.30 morning.
Judges
A team of competent judges from various organization was deployed to evaluate presentation & other competition. These juries have been specially trend for evaluation as per QCFI norms
KAIZEN display/Innovative model Presentation
A total 13 team participated in KAIZEN display/Model presentation, the team passionately explained about the improvement done through such KAIZEN & innovation. Juries went round all the KAIZEN display area & evaluated their display/presentation. Juries selected 3 best model for model presentation award.
Knowledge test
Knowledge test was held at auditorium which was compulsory only for Quality Circle team. It carried 30 marks and was conducted just after inauguration. Time allocation was 40 minutes. All the requirement for the knowledge test like preparing of question paper arranging evaluation, announcing the results etc. Total 49 team participated in this programme & the best 3 team was selected for quiz competition & awarded.
Inauguration
The inauguration function started with welcome speech by Dr Ashok Rai, Chairman, QCFI, Varanasi centre & Vice President, QCFI. Dignitaries on the dais was Chief Guest Prof C P Thakur, Ex Health Minister, Government of India, Ex Chief Minister, Government of Bihar, Presently Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha & Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee, Guest of Honour Sri Pulkit Khare, Chief Development Officer, Varanasi & Director SMS Mr. P.N. Jha, Chairman, QCFI, Varanasi centre & Vice President, QCFI Dr Ashok Rai, Secretary, Varanasi centre Mr. A.M. Chakraborty. The convention was given traditional start by lighting by the lamp by the chief guest & other dignitaries. Mr. Vijay Krishna, Vice Chairman conducted inaugural & valedictory function proceeding in a professional way. Mr. A H Khan conducted knowledge test & quiz competition. Mr. B N Saxena conducted technical session as a chief judge. Varanasi centre organized Co-ordinators Honour programme & for their honourable co-ordinators to support & assistance for this mega convention & also presented token on love to the honourable co-ordinators. The theme of the skit was related to Quality concepts, Best 3 skits was selected for competition and awarded. Judges were Mr. A M Chakraborty, Secretary, QCFI, Varanasi & Mrs. Aruna Singh, Joint Secretary, QCFI, Varanasi.
Valedictory session & award distribution
Honourable guest Mr. B N Saxena, Haridwar, Prof. Satya Gopal, HOD, Psychology Dept, DAV college, Varanasi & Dr Ashok Rai, Prof R K Singh, SMS, Varanasi, Dr Vartika Kulshreshtha, Senior Medical Officer, NTPC, Singrauli, Dr Shristi Pandey, Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Registrar, SMS, Varanasi. Participated in valedictory session and they gave award and blessings to the wining team of this convention.
